Your Inspired Books was born out of an assignment from the Lord to start a coaching and publishing service for Christian nonfiction authors.
Kathy felt the calling of the Lord to help His people share their messages through a book. The community of Your Inspired Books supports the author’s faith and how that plays a role in writing their book. It is also designed to offer Christian authors a safe space to learn, share their message and their faith with other authors.
Our coaching is not only about the mechanical aspects of book writing and publishing, but also incorporates the spiritual aspect. Sometimes an author just needs encouragement, and what better place to look for that than in scriptures.
Our clients love that they are with like-minded people who realize the importance of sharing their message, but also their faith.

Kathy Bates
Kathy has been coaching Christian authors on how to write and self-publish their books since 2019.
This is a God-centered business that seeks to offer Christian authors a safe space to share their faith as while they walk the journey to becoming a published author.
Her first book, Broken Spirit to Boundless Joy, was a God-inspired book to share her testimony and the message God put on her heart. From there God called Kathy to teach his people how to get their message into a book. She has 4 published books and a few more in the works.
She is very active in her church, loves to help others and be an encourager. Kathy believes if God put a message on your heart, then He will make it possible to share it. Sometimes we just need a little guidance, and that's what she loves to do.
Kathy resides with her husband, Duane in Illinois. They love to travel, be outdoors, support one another and laugh. Above all, their love for Jesus is what drew them together and keeps them focused.

Rod Nichols
Since he was in high school, Rod has had a love for writing. He is an accomplished speaker and trainer and has published 10 books, including a couple of Amazon and industry bestsellers.
For over twenty years, Rod owned and operated his own businesses. In 2001 God called Rod to become a pastor. He has helped plant two churches, and a traveling teaching ministry. Currently Rod operates an online Bible school called True Disciple Academy.
Rod has been with Kathy as a client since 2019. In January 2023 Rod joined Your Inspired Books as a coach. His expertise in publishing both through a traditional publisher and self-publishing helps bring a unique perspective.
He is married to his wife Karen of 35 years, and they currently reside in Arizona. They have five children, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Duane Bates
Duane has been the training manager for an industrial company for 16 years and in the business for over 30 years.
He loves problem-solving and feels blessed to get to work with people from all over the world.
Technology and working with computers has been an interest of Duane's for many years. His expertise has come in very handy for Kathy!
Duane also has coached men for many years who have struggled with addictions. It has been rewarding to see men's lives be transformed as they surrender their struggles to God and are open to counseling.
